Paul Kaine joined Cincinnati Ballet in April of 2006, bringing with him an extensive background in administration, development, marketing and outreach. Prior to joining Cincinnati Ballet, Mr. Kaine served as Executive Director of Nashville Ballet, he has also served in that capacity for Ballet Austin and Sarasota Ballet of Florida. Mr. Kaine has 23 years of technical experience in the arts, having worked with many companies providing lighting design and production management services. These companies include Twyla Tharp Dance Company, Houston Ballet, Dance Theatre of Harlem, Ballet Internacional de Caracas, Opera, Jose Limon Dance Company, Louis Falco Dance Company, Seattle Opera, Fort Worth and the Van Cliburn Competition. He has extensive experience in the planning and execution of performance tours and residencies throughout North America, Europe, the Far East and South America.
Mr. Kaine has served on the Tennessee Arts Commission Dance Advisory Panel and the Texas Commission for the Arts Grants Advisory Panel. Mr. Kaine is a member of the Rotary Club of Cincinnati, Association of Nonprofit Executives and has been appointed to the Tennessee Arts Commission Dance Advisory Panel. His community service has included volunteering for Court Appointed Special Advocates (C.A.S.A.), Save the Children, Meals-On-Wheels and the Girl Scouts of America. Mr. Kaine studied Aikido for over 15 years and holds the rank of Sandan (third degree black belt).
